I’m Anna Wills, an artist based in Corvallis, Oregon. I create illustrations and drawings for commissions.
I draw and watercolor places that I admire; I see life in buildings and cities that I share through my pictures.
I’m a college graduate with two bachelors degrees in French language and German.
Artists process: I start by searching through my old travel photos, or ones that I just took if I’m currently traveling. Then I play some music, usually a mix of different music. I really enjoy playing the lord of the Rings soundtrack by Howard shore, it puts me in a type of fantasy zone, of heightened concentration. I also love Black Sabbath, Master Of Reality is my all-time Favorite album.
Then I begin! I start with taping off the sides of my paper to create a clear measured border. Then I have the image I want to draw in front of me and usually start with a black micron .005 pen, or a .01 then slowly I add watercolor on top of it in a variety of places. I dab on top of the water color to create translucence.
